aage aage dekhiye hota hai kya
(start of love it is, why do you cry
ahead ahead see what will happen)

One of Mir’s most quoted couplet; uttered by many in times of romantic woes and travails – It has taken on a light-hearted tone these days (friends tease each other with it about love problems, etc.), but the subtlety of these verses soars far above such low interpretations.
